Experimentation results in discovery. Above my work table is a postcard from the Picasso Museum in Paris. It reads "If you know exactly what you are going to do, what is the point of doing it?"
These portfolios illustrate my transition from film to digital photography, a change that has enhanced how I look at the world. I continually see a never-ending flow of images, colors, textures, and light. Images may be shot for a current project or placed into my digital photo bank for future use. The resulting works are composed of many layers of varying opacities, often merging with each other. Images from past, present, and suggested futures encourage visual weavings that bridge disparate time periods and various cultural worlds.
